Local volunteers went to the grounds of the Mississauga Hospital and Lakefront Promenade Park on September 22 to remove and count discarded cigarette butts. This was done as part of the UNSMOKE Butt Blitz campaign through TerraCycle Canada. They collected 1413 cigarette butts from around the hospital and 937 from Lakefront Promenade Park.
