Scarborough police in 42 Division put out a public release at the end of October to make the public aware of two arrests they made in a fraud scam investigation that targeted Greek Orthodox Churches in the area.

The release says it’s alleged “two suspects falsified a story and emotionally manipulated the victims into giving money” and that “the suspects claimed that they were experiencing financial hardship due to an ongoing court case and lawyer’s fees”.

Martha Falk, 47, of Toronto and Vasiliki Falk, 87, of Toronto were both arrested and charged with multiple counts related to fraud. Police released an image of Martha Falk.

Police say they believe there are more victims and would like people with information to contact police at 416-808-4200.
