2026 Outstanding Women Awards is organized by the Markham, Richmond Hill & Vaughan Chinese Business Association, involves broader region
The Outstanding Women Awards is now seeking nominations for its 2026 awards season. The awards show, put on by the Markham, Richmond Hill & Vaughan Chinese Business Association (MRVCBA), celebrates Asian women in business and the arts from those cities and the broader region.
During a recent press conference in Vaughan, organizers and past honourees gathered to draw attention to the annual award and also speak about the importance of Asian women in business.
“Many Asian women have consistently contributed across professional sectors and community service for years, creating meaningful and lasting impacts on society. Through this platform, we hope more outstanding women can be recognized while inspiring younger generations to pursue their dreams and maximize their influence,” said Henry Chui, Organizing Committee Chair and Former President of MRVCBA.
The official theme for this year’s awards will be “Symphony of Voices, Resonating Change” — symbolizing how every woman represents a unique composition, the organizers say. “Combing different voices, experiences, and journeys to create extraordinary melodies that define our era.”
The announcement also brought together former honourees to speak about their experiences and support for the Outstanding Women Awards.
“As a past winner, I was honoured to provide advice and guidance to this year’s nominees,” said Shara Micucci, who received an award last year for her business and community accomplishments throughout the GTA. Past winners Geri Yin and Betty Liu were also on hand.
“As women we continue to mentor and develop our female leaders,” Micucci said. “These awards signify each woman’s contribution to different parts of Canadian community, business and culture.”
The MRVCBA says that “By sharing the stories of every award recipient, the committee hopes to inspire more women to discover their potential, pursue their dreams with confidence, and create meaningful positive change within society.”
Those wishing to apply for the award have lots of time, as the 2026 Outstanding Women Awards Gala Dinner will be held on November 8, at The Venetian Banquet & Hospitality Centre in Vaughan.
Anyone looking to nominate someone is encouraged to reach out to the organizing committee via email at owa@mrvcba.ca
