Toyota Canada rebuilds corporate HQ in Scarborough

Toyota Canada rebuilds corporate HQ in Scarborough. New 225,000 square foot facility will move offices from Markham south to Scarborough.

Toyota Canada has unveiled the plans for their new corporate headquarters, which will bring several offices together in the same space in Scarborough.

The site of the current head office at 1 Toyota Place — located just south of the 401 and west of Markham Road — will soon be transformed into a new 225,000 square foot facility.

The HQ will consolidate a number of Toyota divisions — sales, marketing, service, distribution and training. They are also moving Toronto Credit Canada from Markham south to the Scarborough offices.

“Today’s announcement represents a significant investment in our future in Canada – our business, our people, and our long-term success,” said Cyril Dimitris, President and CEO of Toyota Canada.

It’s unclear how many new jobs for Scarborough this represents and how much will be spent on the project. Toyota did though announce that they are spending over $300 million on three facilities — the Scarborough HQ and parts distribution centres in Alberta and British Columbia.
