GO Transit and MiWay Transit introduced several service adjustments in September and October. The updates aim to respond to changing travel patterns, improve service reliability and accommodate ongoing construction.
MiWay Expands Frequency and Updates Route Schedules
Effective September 7, Route 110 University Express began operating more frequently between City Centre Transit Terminal and Clarkson GO Station. Weekday service between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. increased to every 10–12 minutes, while evening buses now run every 15–20 minutes. Weekend frequency improved to every 20 minutes.
Route 110A was discontinued, with its service consolidated into Route 110. Additional weekday service was also introduced on several routes serving secondary schools.
On October 26, MiWay introduced further schedule adjustments across routes including Hurontario, Dixie, Credit Woodlands, Rathburn, Lakeshore, Eglinton, Creditview and Winston Churchill. The changes cover weekday and weekend services on selected routes.
GO Transit adjusts train and bus services
In September, GO Transit implemented schedule changes across its network, beginning with bus services on Sept. 5 and rail on Sept. 8. The changes affected the Lakeshore East, Lakeshore West, Barrie and Stouffville lines, with additional bus services introduced.
The interim adjustments were designed to account for seasonal demand, rail crew availability and infrastructure work. Rush-hour train service remained unchanged, while some off-peak journeys were shifted to buses.
Passengers travelling on the Barrie and Stouffville lines could use additional replacement bus services on routes 65, 68 and 71. Travellers heading to Niagara Falls were also encouraged to consider GO Bus Route 12, which connects with Lakeshore West trains at Burlington GO.
Further changes took effect on October 26, when GO Transit adjusted schedules on the Lakeshore West, Milton, Kitchener and Stouffville lines to better reflect actual travel times. Some trains now depart up to nine minutes earlier or later.
