Toronto’s all-night contemporary art festival, “Nuit Blanche,” will celebrate its 20th anniversary this October and organizers are looking for volunteers. This year’s theme is “Tomorrow’s Memories.”
According to the city, the theme is “both a reckoning and a reimagining, reflecting on not only where it [Nuit Blanch] has been, but on where it is now and where it might be going next.”
The festival will take place from 7pm on October 3 to 7am on October 4. It’s free to attend and although the city hasn’t yet released the list of venues, past Scarborough sites have included the Scarborough Town Centre and Albert Campbell Square.
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old, submit a volunteer application, attend a recruitment session and complete a short, informal interview.
There are 2 recruitment sessions taking place in September at City Hall downtown, one on Saturday September 12 and one on Wednesday September 16. Exact times and locations along with the application form can be found on the city’s website on the “Cultural Events Volunteer Program” page.
In addition to enjoying the festival and networking with new people, volunteers will also receive a recognition letter from the city.
