Variety Village receives donation of accessible van to help community. Element Fleet and Adrian Steel made the donation possible.
More individuals will now have access to programs and services for people with disabilities thanks to a new van that’s been donated to Variety Village, the popular Scarborough community hub.
Element Fleet and Adrian Steel made the donation of the 11-passenger van on Nov. 25, with a community gathering and announcement made to celebrate the new vehicle.
“Mobility is about dignity, opportunity, and belonging,” said Michelle Way, Vice President of Element Fleet Essentials. “When transportation is inclusive, places like Variety Village can reach more families, more athletes and more neighbourhood’s, turning potential into progress.”
Way is also a board member of Variety Village.
The van will be used to transport people both to Variety Village’s Scarborough location and to programs all across the region for persons with disabilities.Variety Village is also once again undertaking its popular annual Toronto Sun Christmas Fund. Since 1983, the Sun has been raising money for Variety in a campaign now led by veteran journalist Mike Strobel. Learn more at: https://varietyontario.ca/the-sun-christmas-fund/
