Art Gallery of Mississauga accepts submissions for jury show

The Art Gallery of Mississauga is inviting emerging and established artists to submit their work for an upcoming jury show.

The Fifth Annual Juried Show of Visual Arts is accepting submissions from artists, 18 years of age and older living and working in Ontario, up until September 5 or sooner if they receive 300 submissions.

The gallery explains: “Submissions can include paintings in an medium, drawings, mixed media, fibre art and sculpture, photography, new media and video. Work must be original.”

One of the three jurors is local resident Gary Taxali, a Mississauga-based artist and illustrator who has exhibited at prestigious galleries and museums including The Whitney Museum of American Art.

The art works included in the show will be exhibited at the gallery throughout the fall and top finalists will receive cash prizes, including $1,500 for 1st prize.
