Canada Day festivities throughout Mississauga

There is something for everyone, all across town, this July 1

A number of Canada Day celebrations are happening across Mississauga in the days ahead. Some of them are officially City run events and others are put on by community groups and businesses.

Whatever you do on July 1, be sure to grab a hat and sunscreen, stay hydrated and enjoy quality time with family and friends!

MISSISSAUGA CELEBRATION SQUARE
This is the big one. The City’s official Canada Day party runs from 4pm – 10:30pm at Celebration Square. There is live entertainment, kids events and dozens of food trucks.
Special features include a Freestyle Soccer Show, Little Canucks Playzone, Jumping Kids Bus and an evening performance by TikTok rapper “bbno$”.
Fireworks will go off at 10pm.

CANADA DAY TOGETHER FESTIVAL
This celebration is held at Friendship Community Park on 3370 McDowell Drive, from noon to 10pm on July 1.
Advertisements say the gathering will include food vendors, family activities, games, music and Paw Patrol features.
Entry is free. The event is put on by Cocktail International and Dreammedia Agency.

CANADA DAY GOSPEL FESTIVAL
The Celebration Praise Christian Centre is hosting what they bill as “a memorable day of soul lifting gospel music, family picnic, BBQ, sport, games, warm fellowship and more.”
It will run from 11am-4pm on July 1 and be held at Mississauga Valleys Park (Area C) 1275 Mississauga Valley Blvd.

IRIE IN THE PARK
The Caribbean phrase “irie” means everything is fine and alright. That’s just what this Canada Day party offers — “good vibes, great people, irie memories”.
The gathering features food, music and board games like dominoes and Loodi. It is billed as a family and all-ages event.
It is held at the same park as the Gospel Festival but starts afterward that event wraps up, at 5pm. Mississauga Valleys Park, 1275 Mississauga Valley Blvd

STREETSVILLE CANADA DAY STREETFEST
This annual celebration in the heart of Streetsville is put on by Visit Mississauga and the Streetsville BIA. It runs from 4pm – 10pm at and around Streetsville Village Square, 213 Queen St South. The fireworks and final DJ show are at Memorial Park, 335 Church St.
Highlights include the Queen Vintage Car Show, live music, daily crafts, inflatables and more. The main stage has performances from tribute bands and other entertainers. The 9:45pm fireworks includes a drone show.
